As the host of the G20 summit, the Hangzhou municipal government has held a "30- day countdown" briefing. It announced that preparation work on facilities has been completed, and outlined the most pressing concerns ahead of the summit.

B20 and G20 summits will be held in Hangzhou City from September 3rd to 5th. Chinese President Xi Jinping will address the B20 summit, which will gather over eight hundred business leaders from G20 member nations and global businesses. The Chinese team accounts for half of the representatives.

"As a major event within the G20 framework, the 2016 B20 summit is the biggest in size. The 6 main topics of B20 summit this year are: stimulating growth by finance, trade and investment; basic infrastructure; small and medium-sized enterprises; employment; and anti-corruption," said Yu Jianlong, Sec. Gen., Secretariat of 2016 B20 Working Committee.

"Accordingly, 533 representatives from international enterprises and organizations, industrial committees, and think tanks have made up 5 working groups. Also, they have held an anti-corruption forum."

Less than ten Chinese enterprises have participated in past B20 summits. But this year, 156 Chinese companies will take part in the 2016 B20 summit, accounting for up to one third of the total.

"B20 is a process, not a single event. We used to talk about B20 as a summit only. But rather it's a gradual process of discussion, with the summit as a conclusion. This year, two sessions of B20 work meetings drafted and finalized the policy recommendation report," said Li Qingshuang, Director, Communication Office of 2016 B20 Working Committee.

How then is the preparation work for the B20 and G20 summits going?

"The preparation for the G20 summit is now complete. The venues for the G20 and B20 summits, the residential area, and other facilities are fully renovated. For example, the Hangzhou International Airport has been upgraded to a capacity of 45 large jets," said Zhao Yide, secretary, CPC Hangzhou City Committee.

As the host country, China is ready to take the opportunity provided by the events to reach agreements on economic and strategic cooperation, as well as other global issues.
