Many designers at this year's China Fashion Week fused the old with the new, by featuring traditional Chinese elements in their modern designs. Designer Deng Zhaoping is one of them.

Modern fashion with Chinese flair.

Designer Deng Zhaoping's new collection combines traditional design with high-tech materials.

Exquisite embroidery is seen on every piece. The colors are mainly light green, lilac grey and pale purple, which emphasize the supple elegance of women.

The Guangzhou-based designer also worked with famous painter Deng Xiaoling and Meng Fudan, to create one-of-a-kind prints of the city's famous landmarks, like the Canton Tower and the Guangzhou Opera House.

"I was born in Guangzhou. So I always wanted to reflect local culture and Chinese culture in my design. And these elements make my design different from other designers," Deng said.

China's International Fashion Week runs through November the second. More than 70 designers are showcasing their latest fashion collections during the nine-day event.
