The Houston Rockets hosted the Los Angeles Lakers. Mike D'Antoni has guided the Rockets to fourth place in the western conference so far this season and they came in on a three-game winning streak, with Eric Gordon looking to keep the momentum going.

Late in the opening quarter, Gordon finds Brazil's Nene Hilario whose dunk puts the Rockets up 37-25.

With 30 seconds left to go in the opening frame, Gordon pulls up and nails this three-pointer from the parking lot, extending Houston's lead to 8.The Rockets go into the break with a 43-27 lead.

The Lakers trim the deficit to seven points after this three-ball by Jordan Clarkson with 5 minutes left in the second quarter.

But the man with the beard is quick to answer, James Harden gets the runner to drop.

Lou Williams heaves up a prayer from beyond half court at the buzzer to cut the Rockets lead to 12 at the end of the first half. Williams led the Lakers with 24 points.

Harden opened the third quarter with a three-pointer to give the Rockets a 15-point lead, part of his 25 points in three quarters for Houston.

The 27-year-old then turns provider. His bounce pass finds Switzerland's Clint Capela who throws down a slam to extend the Rockets lead to 17 midway through the quarter.

Gordon knocks down two consecutive three's to open up a commanding 31 point lead late in the third. He would make a career-high eight three-pointers and scored 26 points. Houston routs Los Angeles 134-95 for their fourth straight victory.

Looking at Wednesday's other results, Golden State beat the L.A. Clippers 115-98. Klay Thompson had 24 points to pace the Warriors. Charlotte Hornets beat Detroit, while Brooklyn edged Denver.

Elsewhere, the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Portland Trailblazers. Kyrie Irving's Madison Square Garden mojo continued as he scored 28 points in the Cleveland Cavaliers' rout of the New York Knicks. LeBron James added 25 points and Kevin Love contributed 21. Other winners included the Sacramento Kings, and Indiana Pacers.
