Guo Jingjing began her diving career when she was six years old at the Baoding Training Base, Hebei Province in 1987. After 20 years, Guo is now labeled as the "Diving Queen" and has become the most decorated female Olympic diver.

At the 2004 Athens Olympic Games and 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, she won four gold medals in the three meter women's singles and synchronized springboard. As of January 2011, it was confirmed that she has decided to retire.
