Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo are the first Chinese pair team to win medals at International Skating Union events and the World Figure Skating Championships. In 2007, they got married and became one of the most enviable sports couples.

They are the 2002 and 2006 Olympic bronze medalists, three-time (2002, 2003 and 2007) world champions, three-time Four Continents champions (1999, 2003 and 2007) and six-time Grand Prix Final champions (1998, 1999, 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2009). In 2010, Xue and Zhao became the first Chinese skaters to win a gold medal at the Winter Olympic Games in the pairs figure skating competition.
