·1899: Outstanding leader of workers' movement Li Lisan was born.
·1958: The construction of Haihe Dam was finally completed.
·1981: Fei Xiaotong won the Huxley Memorial Medal.
·1998: China Insurance Regulatory Commission was set up.
·2001: The Chinese Medical Association announced that Chinese scientists had successfully cultured stem cells into gastric and duodenal mucosa externally, which signified new possibilities in recuperating from injured gastric and duodenal mucosa. This was another breakthrough for humankind in the field of the recreation of human organs, after in situ culturing of stem cells for skin regeneration.
