2 die in turmoil in Honduras

Two people died during a turmoil arose in the country since Monday when ousted President Manuel Zelaya returned to Honduras, Honduran police spokesman Orlin Cerrato said on Wednesday.

Cerrato told Xinhua over phone that one man was injured on Tuesday night in a clash with the police and he died on Wednesday at the Honduran Institute of Social Security in Tegucigalpa.

The clash occurred on Tuesday night in Flor del Campo district in the south of the capital, he said.

Another man who occupied an avenue in the south of the Tegucigalpa also died, he said adding that the man had participated together with Zelaya's followers in the street blocking in the districts of Arturo Quezada, Ciudad Lempira, Ramon Amaya Amador and San Francisco.

"We do not know how this man died; we are investigating the causes. We do not know if he was rolled over, we are going to investigate," Cerrato said.

Cerrato also said that some 113 people were detained during the turmoil, accused of plundering stores and blocking highways on Tuesday night.
