Senior Chinese lawmaker Wang Zhaoguo met here Friday with Wade Mark, speaker of the House of Representatives of Trinidad and Tobago, and Timothy Hamel-Smith, president of the Caribbean country's senate.

Wang, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), who visited the country in March, said the NPC will enhance exchanges with Trinidad and Tobago, on the basis of the Caribbean country's experience in strengthening democracy and the legal system.

The visiting lawmakers expressed their country's willingness to advance exchanges and cooperation with the NPC and contribute to bilateral ties.

The delegation is making the visit at the invitation of top Chinese legislator Wu Bangguo.
