Donated school building by China ready to start in Yangon

The foundation stone laying ceremony a three-storey school building was held on 7 March 2014. The building that is worth 120 million Kyats was jointly donated by Chinese Embassy and China-Myanmar Friendship Association to Su Taung Pyea National Race Youth Development Parahita Gayhar in Yangon, where more than 1700 students mainly from orphanage and poor families take classes.

The foundation stone laying ceremony a three-storey school building was held on 7 March 2014. 

It was attended by Chinese Ambassador Mr. Yang Houlan, School Rector U Nan T, Myanmar-China Friendship Association U Sein Win Aung, and Chairman Wu Jihuan of Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar. U Nan said, the school building was expected to be completed in June, and then the teaching and living environment of the school would be significantly improved. Chinese Ambassador also received interviews.

In the past two years, the Chinese Embassy has made a number of contributions to Myanmar social and welfare service, including the donation of USD 50,000 for helping primary schools and nursing homes in Kachin, Shan and Rakhine states in 2012 and 40,000 pieces of mosquito nets and 1,000 sets of solar power equipment in November 2013 to the rural areas jointly with the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
