A Malaysian guided missile frigate has arrived at an Australian naval base near Perth for briefings on the ongoing search for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, tweeted the Australian Maritime Safety Authorities (AMSA) on Monday.

KD Lekiu is expected to head for the search area in the southern Indian Ocean after refuelling and replenishing at HMAS Stirling, a naval base located on Garden Island west of Perth.

The Malaysian vessel is to join later this week the massive multinational hunt for the ill-fated Boeing 777 jetliner, which disappeared early March 8 while carrying 239 people from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

According to the AMSA, 10 aircraft and 10 ships are tasked to Monday's hunt.
