Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang will attend the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting in China's Beijing, said a press release by Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.

Sang will take part in the event at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Vietnam's state-run news agency VNA quoted the release as saying.

A series of APEC meetings bearing the theme "Shaping the Future through Asia-Pacific Partnership" will be held from Nov. 5 to 11 in Beijing.

The 21 APEC members, including the United States, China, Japan and Russia, account for over half of the world's economic output, 40 percent of the world's population, and 46 percent of total global trade.
