China on Friday delivered emergency food assistance to Lebanon to help support Syrian refugees living there.

The agreement was signed between Lebanese Social Affairs Minister Pierre Bou Assi and Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon Wang Kejian in Beirut.

At the signing ceremony, Bou Assi expressed gratitude for Chinese government's long-term support to Lebanon, saying the emergency food aid will improve the living conditions of Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

The minister added that his ministry is distributing the food aid offered by China to Syrian refugees across the country.

For his part, Wang said the emergency food assistance is a promise that the Chinese government has fulfilled now. He stressed that the Chinese side will continue to provide humanitarian aid to Syrian refugees and push for political solution to end the Syrian crisis and allow the Syrian refugees in Lebanon to return home.
