A ceremony was held to celebrate the 10thanniversary of comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Denmark at the Royal Danish Embassy in Beijing on June 21.

Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs Anders Samuelsen, in China on a three-day visit, hailed the "long and strong" bilateral relations in his speech at the ceremony.

According to Samuelsen, the comprehensive strategic partnership was established in 2008, aiming to further enhance the already good relations and close cooperation between the two countries.

He said the partnership has expanded considerably in the past decade, and now covers a wide range of sectors including health, food, agriculture, intellectual property protection, market regulation, culture, tourism, maritime affairs and urban development.

"The uniqueness of our partnership comes from the combination of political commitments at the highest levels and close day-to-day cooperation at working levels," he said.

Vice Foreign Minister of China Wang Chao said a sound, stable and sustainable China-Denmark strategic partnership serves the interests of not only the two countries but also the overall progress of China-EU relations, and the trend to advocate peace, development, cooperation and win-win outcomes.

Looking forward, Wang said the partnership is at a new starting point with fresh development opportunities and more promising prospects.

Samuelsen also said he believed the partnership will reach a higher level and contribute more to global development in the next decade.

Denmark is the only Nordic country to have established a comprehensive strategic partnership with China. The two countries launched the "Joint Work Program 2017-2020" last year, which in Samuelsen's words upgraded the partnership to a new level.

The ceremony also featured performances by Danish artists.
