Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged on Thursday the international community to back the U.S. efforts to halt what he called escalating "Iranian aggression."
"In the last 24 hours, Iran has intensified its aggression against the U.S. and against the international community," Netanyahu said in a statement released by his office.
The prime minister called on "all peace-loving nations" to support the United States in its efforts against "Iranian aggression."
Netanyahu's remark came hours after a U.S. military drone was shot down in the Strait of Hormuz by Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps.
Netanyahu has been a vocal opponent of the nuclear deal signed in 2015 between Iran and the world powers, and welcomed U.S. withdrawal from the deal and its sanctions on the Islamic republic.
