A 5.0-magnitude earthquake on Friday jolted Issyk-Kul, a northeastern region of Kyrgyzstan bordering China.

So far no casualties have been reported.

The tremors were recorded at 8:12 a.m. local time (0212 GMT) in a Kyrgyzstan earthquake center located in the region, the country's Seismology Institute of the National Academy of Sciences reported.

A 5.5-magnitude earthquake was recorded on Monday on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

Seven earthquakes were recorded in Kyrgyzstan in June, according to data of the institute.

Tremors often occur in the Osh and Batken regions of southern Kyrgyzstan, which are among the most earthquake-prone regions in Central Asia.
