Senior CPC official visits Czech Republic

At the invitation of the Czech Social Democratic Party (CSSD), Li Hongzhong, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, visited the Czech Republic on July 8-11.

During the visit, Li, also Secretary of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee, met with Radek Vondracek, Speaker of the Czech Chamber of Deputies, Jan Hamacek, Chairman of the CSSD and the First Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, and Vojtech Filip, Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies and Chairman of the Czech Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia.

Li noted that under the guidance of Presidents of the two countries, China and the Czech Republic witnessed rapid development of bilateral relations in recent years. The Czech Republic actively participated in the Belt and Road construction, which has yielded fruitful results. He added that his visit was aimed at implementing the important consensus between the two leaders, and promoting bilateral cooperation.

Li introduced at the meetings the economic and social development of China in the past 70 years since the People's Republic of China was founded in 1949 and especially since the 18th CPC National Congress. He added that China is willing to work together with the Czech side to jointly safeguard the multilateralism and free trade, to construct an open world economy and to promote the building of a community of shared future.

Officials on the Czech side spoke highly of bilateral relations, expressing willingness to actively join in the Belt and Road construction and expand the win-win cooperation and exchange with China in all aspects.
