Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on Wednesday said in Bangkok that it is ready to organize the 52nd ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting from July 30 to Aug. 3.

Suriya Chindawongse, director-general of ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Affairs Department of MFA, said he has received confirmation of attendance from 31 countries and regions.

Suriya said Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will officially open the 52nd ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting on July 31.

"Thailand, as the chair of the 34th ASEAN Summit, will inspire sustainability and participation from all parties and regional development by ASEAN and dialogue partners," Suriya said.

"They include the development of smart cities that will support urbanization and solve inequality and poverty, as well as frameworks for interactions with countries outside the region, transport networking for sustainability, linkage of ASEAN and G20 and environmental conservation," Suriya said.
