Chinese ambassador presents credentials to Egypt's president

China's new ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang presented on Monday his credentials to Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi.

The two sides confirmed their countries' willingness to deepen the pragmatic cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Liao expressed his awareness of responsibilities as the 17th Chinese ambassador to Egypt, saying that he will work with Egypt to implement the important consensus reached by both countries and promote greater development of bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership.

For his part, Sisi said that bilateral relations have withstood the test of the changing international and regional situation and have always maintained the momentum of forging ahead.

He expressed his hopes to seize the historical opportunity under the Belt and Road Initiative to bring the rejuvenation to Egypt.

Sisi added that he attaches great importance to the comprehensive strategic partnership between Egypt and China, and strongly supports to strengthen the relationship.
