Libya's eastern-based army attacks UN-backed government forces in western Tripoli

Fighter jets of the eastern-based army of Libya on Sunday attacked a site of the rival UN-backed government's forces in west of the capital Tripoli, as the armed conflict between the two rivals continues.
The information office of the eastern-based army said that airstrike targeted a military force of the UN-backed government in Janzur district in western Tripoli, revealing no details about casualties.
Osama Ali, spokesman of the Health Ministry's Emergency Department, said the airstrike injured six civilians, including five children.
According to local residents, the explosion could be heard loudly in western Tripoli, and smoke could be seen rising from the attacked site.
The eastern-based army and the UN-backed government have been fiercely fighting since early April for control over Tripoli.
The fighting has claimed thousands of lives and injured many others, and also displaced nearly 120,000 people away from their homes.
The eastern-based army is allied with the eastern-based government, as the North African country is politically divided between eastern and western governments.
