The Albanian Radio Television and China's National Radio and Television Administration signed here on Saturday an agreement on the broadcasting of Chinese television programs.

The agreement authorized the Albanian Radio Television to broadcast the documentary on China's governance "China: Time of Xi" and feature film "Kids of Wuzhumuqin Town."

Within the framework of the agreement, the two institutions will also cooperate on the exchange of television productions, documentaries and cartoons, as well as staff training.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Thoma Gellci, general director of the Albanian Radio Television, said the bilateral relations in the fields of television production and exchanges of Albanian and Chinese cultures have entered a new era.

"The Albanian Radio Television will have the possibility of offering the Albanian audience movies which show how China and the Chinese people are tackling the challenges in the path of development," Gellci said.

Chinese Ambassador to Albania Zhou Ding voiced the hope that the documentary on China's governance will open a new window for Albanians to know China.

"In the new era, we need to get to know one another in a more comprehensive and profound way, which is also the basis and precondition for deepening cooperation of mutual interest," the ambassador said.

"This activity is not only a step to foster further cooperation on radio and television exchanges between the two parties, but is also a useful tool for strengthening mutual trust between the two countries and peoples," said Zhou Jihong, deputy head of the international cooperation department with China's National Radio and Television Administration.

The event is part of a series of activities to mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Albania.
