Three people were killed and four others injured in a single vehicle-related crash on Highway 101 in San Jose late Saturday night, local TV network KPIX5 reported Sunday.

An officer of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said the crash involved a 2001 Chevrolet Yukon SUV, which slammed into center divider before rolling over. The driver, who was not identified by name, survived the accident with minor injuries.

The three victims fatally wounded were pronounced dead at the scene, and the rest suffered minor-to-moderate injuries, the CHP authorities said.

An initial investigation showed drugs or alcohol were a not factor found in connection with the deadly crash. The highway was closed for several hours from around mid-night Saturday before it was reopened at 4:25 a.m. Sunday.

The CHP said a further probe of the accident is underway.
