5.7-magnitude quake hits Greece

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 jolted 224 km southwest of Methoni, Greece, at 2:43 on Thursday (2343 GMT on Wednesday), the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 20.22 km, was initially determined to be at 35.1547 degrees north latitude and 20.2872 degrees east longitude.

Methoni is a seaside town in Peloponnese region, southern Greece. There were no immediate reports of injuries or significant damage.
