At least four civilians were killed and two others wounded in twin explosions in western part of Kabul, capital of Afghanistan on Wednesday, witnesses said.

"The first explosion, apparently a roadside bomb blast, hit a public mini-bus in a busy road in Dashti Barchi neighborhood, Police District 13 roughly at 4 p.m. local time, killing four commuters and wounding two others," eyewitness Sayyed Ahmad said.

The vehicle was destroyed in the explosion.

The second blast occurred about 30 minutes later in nearby Dehbori area Police District 3, he said, adding that the Taliban security forces have cordoned off the areas for precautionary measures.

There was no immediate report on the casualties of the second explosion.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks yet.

Dominated by the minority Shiite Muslims, the neighborhood has been the scene of bomb explosions which targeted public places and vehicles in recent years. The Islamic State (IS) affiliated militants claimed responsibility for the majority of the attacks.

On Saturday, three people were killed and several others wounded in a bomb attack which hit a mini-bus in Dashti Barchi.
