UAE embassy participates in 4th China-Arab States Women's Forum

The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Beijing on Thursday participated in the 4th China-Arab States Women's Forum organized by the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF).

Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri, the UAE ambassador to China, delivered a speech at the forum, emphasizing the importance of China-Arab women's exchanges and highlighting the impressive progress and accomplishments achieved by Emirati women in the UAE.

"To ensure our foreign aid policy is aligned with our core social values, the UAE strives to support opportunities for women all around the globe. As a founding member of the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi), the UAE, in association with the World Bank, has already contributed $50 million to support over 300,000 women around the world in gaining access to financing, markets and networks," the ambassador said.

The forum was opened with welcoming remarks by Lin Yi, vice president and member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, and Li Chen, ambassador for affairs of China-Arab Cooperation Forum at China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

Following the forum's opening ceremony, ambassadors from embassies of Arab states in China, representatives of ambassadorial spouses in Beijing, as well as representatives from relevant departments of the Chinese government, and female representatives in areas of science and technology, exchanged ideas on areas in which Arab and Chinese women have made progress and advanced their respective societies.

Since 2015, the ACWF has organized the China-Arab States Women's Forum to make positive contributions to deepening China-Arab women's exchanges and cooperation. The forum aims to share good practices and successful experiences in promoting women's education and innovation in science and technology in China and Arab states, as well as strengthen gender equality and women's development, further consolidate and deepen the traditional friendship and good relations between Chinese and Arab women, and build a China-Arab community with a shared future in the new era.
