An attack with drones hit the compound of the U.S. Al-Tanf military base in southern Syria on Monday, a war monitor reported.

One drone hit a sand barrier near the base with no reports on human losses, while the two other drones were shot down, said the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

There was no claim of responsibility for the attack which came hours after Israeli missile struck Damascus and the coastal city of Tartous, killing three Syrian soldiers.

The war monitor said the drones were launched from the Syrian desert region at a place a few kilometers away from the Al-Tanf base.
