China will uphold the concept of sincerity and honesty and the values of friendship, justice and shared interests to increase input for global development cooperation and build and use the Global Development Promotion Center well, so as to make it an important platform for promoting the Global Development Initiative (GDI) deeper and in a more concrete way, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Saturday.

Wang made the remarks when attending the inauguration ceremony of the Global Development Promotion Center hosted by the China International Development Cooperation Agency.

Noting that Chinese President Xi Jinping announced the establishment of the center at the High-level Dialogue on Global Development in June, Wang said this is a new progress for China to implement the GDI, and a new move to deepen global development cooperation.

China has positively united the international community and pushed forward 32 important measures which gained early important results since the GDI was proposed, Wang said, adding that cooperation platforms are increasing and interactions of all parties are getting more frequent.

"The Chinese modernization provides new choices for mankind to achieve modernization, and the new development of China brings new opportunities for global development," Wang said.

The center will also inject new impetus and make new contribution to the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Wang said.
