Pakistani Ambassador to Afghanistan Obaid ur Rehman Nizamani has survived unscathed a gun attack on his life in Afghan capital Kabul, local TV channel Tolo News TV reported Friday.

A security guard of the Pakistani embassy was injured in a gunfire by unknown armed men at the entrance of the embassy, the TV channel said on social media.

An eyewitness on condition of anonymity told Xinhua that he was crossing the area near the Pakistani embassy, when the gunfire happened. "I saw a security personnel of the embassy wounded on the spot."

Abdul Qahar Balkhi, spokesman for the Taliban-led caretaker government's foreign ministry, condemned the attack on the Pakistani embassy.

"The Islamic Emirate will not allow malicious groups to threat security of the diplomatic mission. The incident will seriously be investigated," said the spokesman.
