China vows to ensure safety of Chinese nationals, enterprises after Central African Republic attack

China's Foreign Ministry on Monday vowed to safeguard the safety of Chinese nationals and enterprises in Africa in wake of an attack in Central African Republic that killed nine Chinese nationals.

The attack which targeted a China-funded private enterprise on Sunday also left two other people critically injured.

In a statement published on Monday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said a team from the Chinese embassy in the Central African Republic has rushed to the site to coordinate with all parties on follow-up matters.

The ministry also demanded punishment for the culprits and warned Chinese nationals and enterprises in the country to avoid high-risk areas and evacuate timely.
