An exhibition featuring women and children's development in China opened on March 6, 2012 at the National Museum of China in Beijing in conjunction with the upcoming International Women's Day. It will last about a week.

Chinese State Councilor Liu Yandong attended at the opening ceremony and Chen Zhili, vice chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's legislative body and president of the All-China Women's Federation gave a speech.

Hosted by the National Working Committee on Children and Women under the State Council and the All-China Women's Federation, the exhibition focuses on the main achievements in women and children's development work in the past decade. It aims to raise awareness of the gender equality national policy and the 'children first' principle.

It also focuses on showcasing Chinese women's roles in political, economic, social and cultural fields in an effort to promote the implementation of the new national development programs on women and children (2011-2020). The exhibition, covering 3,530 square meters, is divided into three sectors-the national comprehensive exhibition hall, provincial and regional exhibition hall and the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan hall.

Ambassador of Greece in China, Mr&Mrs. Theodore Georgakelos also participated in this opening ceremony.
