On May 16, 2012, Vice Foreign Minister Song Tao met with former Greek Prime Minister Constantine Simitis. [fmprc.gov.cn]

On May 16, 2012, Vice Foreign Minister Song Tao met with former Greek Prime Minister Constantine Simitis, who is in China for the InterAction Council annual meeting.

Song made positive comments on bilateral relations and thanked for Simitis's important contributions to the development of bilateral relations within his term, expressing hope that he will continue to work to deepen the friendship between both countries.

Simitis said that the current bilateral cooperation is facing many opportunities, pledging to make more efforts for promoting exchanges and cooperation between Greece and China.

The two sides also exchanged in-depth views on the current situation in Europe and Greece.
