Two helicopters from the Brazilian Air Force left Tuesday for Chile to help rescue efforts after the massive earthquake on early Saturday morning.

The two H60s are expected to reach Chile's capital city Santiago Wednesday, the Brazilian Security Cabinet (GSI) said.

The Brazilian government will also send a Navy field hospital to Chile on Thursday. Medical teams and their equipment, including dialysis tools, will be transported by two Air Force Hercules planes.

The planes may bring back more Brazilian citizens who are stranded in Chile. About 30 Brazilians have already been brought home by an Air Force plane early Tuesday morning.

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva visited Santiago and met with Chilean President Michele Bachelet on Monday. He called on the Chileans to be united, and expressed Brazil's willingness to help its neighbor in any capacity.
