Thailand's weekly cabinet meeting Tuesday approved some 100,000 U.S. dollars worth of a humanitarian fund for quake-ravaged Haiti, Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva disclosed.

Moreover, Thailand will send some 20,000 tons of rice for the quake victims in Haiti, Thai News Agency quoted Abhisit as saying.

The Thai government will also open for the Thai people to donate their money for 15 days from now to help relief efforts, he said.

Meanwhile, Thailand's defense and public health ministries have been assigned to send some army engineers and medical staff to Haiti, the Thai premier said.

The Thai government's latest move followed the first aid of sending some 20,000 U.S. dollars to Haiti last week.
