Leaders of the Group of 20 (G20) major economies, who are in Toronto holding their fourth summit since 2008, on Sunday met with youth delegates from G20 member countries.

A Chinese university student was among the youth delegates invited to the meeting, which took place in the Metro Toronto Convention Center, the summit venue, a source with the Chinese youth delegation told Xinhua.

The youth delegates are in Toronto participating in the G20 youth summit, dubbed "MY SUMMIT 2101", which was jointly hosted by the Canadian Foreign Ministry and Ottawa-based Global Vision, a youth-driven non-profit organization. A total of nearly 150 youth representatives of the G20 members were invited to the event.

Since the youth summit began on Friday, just one day ahead of the start of the G20 leaders' summit, the participants, including a delegation of seven Chinese university students, have held panel discussions and exchanged ideas on topics like the current and future challenges for the G20, innovation and technological development, world economy and international finance, according to the Chinese delegation source.

The Chinese youth delegates, selected and sponsored by the All- China Youth Federation for their outstanding performance on campus, also shared their experiences and thoughts with peers at home through microblogging during their stay in Toronto, said the source.
