China's meteorological authority announced Tuesday the nuclear radiation leakage following explosions at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan would not affect China over the next three days.

The China Meteorological Administration (CMA) forecast that quake-hit regions in Japan would mostly see rainy weather starting from Tuesday night to Wednesday.

Experts with the Beijing-based Regional Specialized Meteorological Center with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) said that rains would be conducive to the fallout of radioactive leakages, and thus would help reduce the impact.

China's nuclear watchdog, the National Nuclear Safety Administration, said earlier that China remains unaffected by the leak.

According to weather forecasts from the CMA, the Japanese capital city of Tokyo would be cloudy and see showers on Wednesday. In Sendai and Fukushima, rain and snow are predicted for Wednesday and Thursday.
