Libyan opposition on Friday held a meeting attended by representatives from different cities around the country, a move of scrambling regional support with Libyan Leader Muammar Gaddafi.

The representatives came from around 15 cities, not only the cities that have been captured by the opposition, but mostly from cities still held by the pro-Gaddafi forces, including Zawiya in the west of Tripoli, Sebha in the south and Sirte the hometown of Gaddafi.

Some representatives came from Doha and Abu Dhabi, where they held meetings discussing the Libyan situation. Their visits in the opposition base Benghazi was widely viewed as a support of the rebel's "National Transitional Council."

"I'm staying here with you and not leaving," said a representative named Mohammad Chibani after attending the Friday pray with other representatives and more than 10,000 local people.

Chibani has left Libya for 31 years as refugee and was now appointed by the people of his hometown Zawiya as representative.

The opposition and Gaddafi's government are scrambling for regional and tribal supports around the country. Gaddafi on Wednesday held a meeting in Tripoli, attended by different tribal leaders.

However, the opposition said that Gaddafi's tribal meeting was "fabricated."
