The 15th Western China International Fair to open in Oct.

The 15th Western China International Fair (WCIF) will be held on October 23 to 26, 2014 in Chengdu, Sichuan province. The four-day event is expected to provide innovative vitality and new opportunities for cooperation to traders all over the world.

The exhibition area of the fair will cover 240,000 sqm in total, mainly focusing on technology exchange, business negotiation activities, and industrial products and consumer products are among the many highlights.

About WCIF

Western China International Fair (WCIF) is a state-level international exposition under the co-sponsorship of China's 16 ministries/commissions, 12 provinces (autonomous regions, municipality) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps in western China. The WCIF is held annually in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China with 13 sessions having been held so far.

The WCIF was founded in 2000 for the implementation of the Western China Development Strategy put forward by the Chinese Central Government. The WCIF, which originates from, grows with and serves for the development of western China, has development into one of the largest, most influential and advanced economy and trade fairs in China.

Based in western China, the WCIF has national and global influence at large. Established by the Chinese government, it serves as an important platform for investment promotion, trade cooperation and diplomatic service in western China, between eastern and western China, and China and foreign countries; it is the largest and most important platform for the opening-up and development of western China.

The 14th WCIF saw a total exhibition area of 180,000 sqm. More than 60,000 participants from 106 countries and regions exhibited or attended the Fair. Over 400,000 visits were registered. There were 25 foreign investment projects with a total investment volume of RMB 36.71 billion yuan (5.92 billion dollars).
