The Sichuan International Exhibition Co., an affiliate of the Sichuan Expo Affairs Bureau, signed a memorandum of cooperation with the American Chamber of Commerce in South China on July 23, 2014, marking the establishment of long-term strategic cooperation between the two organizations. The 15th Western China International Fair will serve as a platform for their collaboration.

A US Pavilion will be set up in the International Cooperation Pavilion during the first phase of the fair, which will be held in Chengdu, the capital of southwest China’s Sichuan Province, from October 23 to 26. Activities like the Western China-US Investment and Trade Cooperation Forum will also be held at that time.

The American Chamber of Commerce in South China presently has a membership comprised of over 2,300 American companies, including Wal-Mart, Apple Inc., Chevron and other Fortune 500 companies. The total revenues of these enterprises in China accounted for 40 percent of the total Sino-US trade investment. Through the fair, the chamber will introduce more US companies in South China to Western China and encourage member companies to create partnerships with Sichuan enterprises. Sichuan-US economic and trade exchange will be promoted and strengthened with the deepening of strategic cooperation. Moreover, the fair will give impetus to business cooperation between Chinese enterprises in Western China and American enterprises in Southern China.
