Eat Less Roasted Chicken Wings

Many women in Beijing are die-hard fans of roasted chicken wings, but they may unknowingly put themselves at greater risk of having breast cancer.

Monday's Legal Mirror newspaper reports the popular street food may use unhealthy chicken wings for its ingredients. The paper says some chickens have been injected with hormones and the injections were done right on the wings.

The report quotes a veterinarian saying injecting hormones is a common method to shorten the chickens' maturation process and their wings are the part that can absorb the most.

Many women in Beijing are die-hard fans of roasted chicken wings, but they may unknowingly put themselves at greater risk of having breast cancer.

A doctor from a local hospital confirmed it's possible for women to get breast cancer from eating too much injected chicken meat. He warned citizens to control their intake of roasted chicken wings.

The report says currently, over 1,000 restaurants serve roasted chicken wings around the city. However, many restaurant owners avoided talking about hormone-injected chickens, but said their chicken wings have undergone all required inspections.
