The sixth Harbin International Beer Festival opened on Saturday in Harbin, capital of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province.

Harbin, the first Chinese city to brew beer, boasts a beer culture of 107 years. It also ranks among the cities with the highest average per capita beer consumption in the world!

The city launched the annual international beer festival in 2002. This year the event will last for 15 days till August 5.

Many top beer manufacturers from Germany, the United States, Denmark and Japan, as well as China, are taking part in the occasion.
