Train Brings Lawmakers to Beijing

A police officer stands guard at the No. 1 platform of the Beijing West Railway Station on Wednesday morning, February 28, 2007 just minutes before the arrival of Tibetan delegates to the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, and Tibetan members on the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's top advisory body. Their train arrived in Beijing Wednesday morning after a 48-hour ride via the Qinghai-Tibet railway which began operation in July last year.
