China's parliament, the National People's Congress (NPC), concluded its annual session on Friday morning with the adoption of a landmark property law and a corporate income tax law. The two laws, granting equal protection to public and private properties and unifying corporate income tax rates for domestic and foreign companies, were adopted by an overwhelming majority vote.
Premier Wen Jiabao Meets the Press
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao on Friday urged relevant countries in the world to adopt and sign an international convention on peaceful utilization of outer space at the earliest date possible. Wen made the call at a press conference in Beijing after the conclusion of the annual plenary session of the Chinese parliament .
