Recent college graduates in Beijing are busy tweaking their resumes for the nearly 70 free job fairs that will kick off the annual hiring season in the capital.

A fair on Saturday will recruit mid-level and senior positions. There, an estimated 40 enterprises will review applicants for more than 1,000 jobs with annual salaries upwards of 60,000 yuan (US$8,450), the Beijing News reports.

This hiring season features a variety of job fairs targeting different groups of people, including IT professionals, chemical practitioners and educators.

This year, recruiters will provide jobs for fresh graduates to serve the 2008 Olympic Games at a fair beginning March 21 in Dongcheng District.

A job fair exclusively for women will be held on March 5 and 7 to mark worldwide Women's Day.

Besides the public job fairs, students can also attend a range of routine job fairs on the Tsinghua University, Peking University and Renmin University campuses.
