Kim Choyeop said that through historical and lived experiences, women can recognize that the concepts of "what is a woman" and "what is human" are never fixed.
"In my own brief 30-some years of life, I have clearly felt that society's view of women today is completely different from that of decades ago," she said. "Science fiction expresses worldly change, which is why the works of women sci-fi writers often do not cling to established definitions but embrace greater openness."
"In this book, we accomplished what many deemed impossible, and we hope to create more small miracles ahead," said Ji Shaoting, noting that women's narratives have become a new force in film and television. She predicted that female-led stories exploring women's experiences could drive growth in the entertainment industry.
Future Affairs Administration launched a China-South Korea science fiction exchange project in 2017 and is now preparing a China-Japan women's science fiction anthology.
