What do people do during the Mid-Autumn Festival?

While modern celebrations have evolved, people still honor many traditional customs:

Mooncake sharing

The round pastries filled with lotus seed paste, egg yolks or red bean represent reunion. People give mooncakes as gifts to relatives and friends.

Lantern lighting

Children carry glowing lanterns of various shapes, creating a magical night scene. In some regions, lantern riddles add a playful element to the evening.

Moon appreciation

Families gather outdoors or on rooftops to admire the full moon — believed to be at its brightest and most beautiful on this night.
