An exhibition of exquisite Chinese embroidery is on view at the Summer Palace in Beijing through July 26.
The exhibition, titled "Exquisite Threads: The Art of Bird and Flower Embroidery," displays 80 works drawn from the collections of the Summer Palace itself, Guangzhou Museum and Suzhou Silk Museum.
Alongside antiques, the exhibition highlights modern masterpieces, including works by Yao Huifen, a national representative inheritor of Suzhou embroidery, and creations from the workshop of the late Ren Huixian, a master of the same craft.
