Officials of Indonesian Adam Airline said Monday the missing plane of the airline was confirmed at Rantepao-Makale, in Toraja regency of Indonesia's South Sulawesi province.

According to a local leading website "Detik.com," Eki Runeser, an official of the Adam Airline in Makassar, capital of South Sulawes, told relatives of the missing plane's passengers that the plane landed in the area, but the condition of the plane and passengers was not clear.

"We hope both the plane and the passengers are all safe," he added.

The Airline was waiting for further information about the plane and passengers.

The B373-300 of Adam Air plying the Surabaya-Manado route lost contact with the radar station at Makassar's Hasanuddin airport at 15:07 local time on Monday.

When the plane lost contact, it was flying at an altitude of 35, 000 feet, 85 miles north-west of Makassar.

He said until now, his office had no information on the possible causes of the plane's disappearance because its position or whereabouts was still unknown.

The plane with 85 adult passengers, seven children and four infants left Surabaya airport at 12:59 and was scheduled to land in Manada, capital of North Sulawesi at 16:14. There were four air attendants on the plane with PK-KKW registration.
