"Nowadays, with the impact of modern civilization, Mongolian culture is gradually fading away. From my paintings, people can retrieve the memories of the Mongolians. Meanwhile, the way I painted was also a kind of tribute I tried to pay to our traditional culture," he said. Li is not alone in paying that tribute, as the country has realized the plight of minority cultures and begun to protect more and more intangible cultural heritages, which, according to Li, is immensely encouraging.
