The venue Little Big City Beijing, according to its general manager Wang Rui, will open in early September at Qianmen Street near the iconic Tiananmen Square, center of Beijing, and in the neighborhood of Madame Tussauds Beijing, another Merlin Entertainments-owned attraction.

To differentiate it from other miniature attractions, Little Big City Beijing will have miniature landmarks such as Forbidden City, Great Wall and Temple of Heaven, as well as more than 6,000 vivid miniature mannequin residents, combining storytelling and various advanced, interactive and cutting-edge technologies such as hologram and projection mapping. It will give tourists an immersive experience, going back in time to explore the ancient history and legends of China's national capital.

Wang, also a general manager of Madame Tussauds Beijing, said at the press conference and groundbreaking ceremony held in Beijing on March 21 that the new attraction would be the first kind of such interactive miniature experience venue in Asia, and the second one in the world, only after Little Big City Berlin.

"China is a market that is full of vigor, vitality and potential," Ben Sweet, Merlin Entertainments New Opening Director, Asia Pacific, told China.org.cn, "With the recent speedy development of the China market, the consumption pattern of Chinese customers is going through significant restructuring and upgrading.”
