Vassilios Kostetsos, one of the top Greek fashion designers in Greece in the past three decades, staged on Saturday a unique fashion show at the entrance of the Herod Atticus Odeon at the foot of the Acropolis in Athens.

Models dressed in colorful, airy, feminine creations and costumes with geometrical patterns with references to Ancient Greek art walked the runway presenting Kostetsos' Spring Summer 2019 Haute Couture collection before an audience of a few dozens.

Greece's Central Archaeological Council gave permission to the designer to stage the show under strict instructions to protect the monument.

The ancient stone theater was built on the slope of the Acropolis hill in 161 AD. Renovated in 1950, the theater is now used for select music and theater performances.

Kostetsos' collection which was entitled "Narcissus" was inspired by Ancient Greek mythology.
