The two new comics, "Warriors Fight with Three Kings" and "Cyclone", were produced in partnership with a Chinese online comics platform. The protagonists are endowed with the mission to protect human beings and safeguard cities.

Scriptwriters and artists from China were engaged by Marvel to create the new characters, and aspects of Chinese culture and mythology have been incorporated into their development, said C.B. Cebulski, Marvel's editor in chief.

The two comics focus more on the development of individuals, and they draw heavily on the style of Japanese comics. This has led some fans to complain that the Japanese-style artwork feels out of place, and that the overall quality of the comics is not as good as some of Marvel's other work.

Other netizens were more positive, saying that the artists tried their best but that their lack of experience showed through in the smoothness of the storyboards.

The release of the two comics has been seen as an attempt to win more fans in the profitable Chinese comics market. Local comics fans flocked in huge numbers to see the latest Marvel film, "Avengers: Infinity War".

No official announcement has been made as to whether these Chinese superheroes will join the permanent lineup of Marvel characters.
